Where:  Near Sanyang Beach
When:  24th Jan - 6th Feb 2012

This winter Nansady Keita & friends invite you to join them on a holiday to Gambia to learn traditional West African dance by the beach. In Nansady's region of Guinea drum and dance always go together and Nansady is a fantastic djembe soloist for dance.  He will be one of the people who will play for you as you dance. Teaching the dance itself is Marie Sylla of Guinea, an experienced dance teacher from the same region as Nansady, who grew up in the authentic traditional village culture of drum & dance.

Also providing the live music for you to dance to is Jali Buba Badjie - the warm-spirited and talented son of one of Gambia’s most acclaimed kora masters. The kora is a beautiful and hypnotic stringed instrument, and as well as the main exciting  dance  to djembe you will have the chance to learn this more gentle, flowing and contemporary feeling dance style to the kora.
